Student Technology Responsible Use Policy
The Needham Public Schools would like to ensure that access to network resources, electronic communication, the Internet, database systems, computers and other information technology resources are used by students in a manner that is consistent with the mission and values of the school district.
It is an annual requirement that students and parents/guardians sign an acknowledgement that they have reviewed the Students’ Responsible Use of Digital Resources (RUP) policy and agree to the terms of use. (Students 18 or over must sign the acknowledgement for themselves.) In early September you will receive an email with instructions on how to use our new system to electronically sign this policy and
the 1:1 Device Agreement.
This process acknowledges our partnership with parents/guardians to develop responsible attitudes, reinforce appropriate behaviors, and observe security practices that ensure the safety of all our students as they use online learning resources.
Some parents and students choose to use the PowerSchool app on their phone. Parents and students can use the app to look up grades and other pertinent information.
