We strive to create and serve enticing menus: healthy, balanced, kid-friendly, fun choices.
We strongly encourage students to help themselves to unlimited fruits, vegetables, and salads. We believe, like the new "My Plate" guidance from the USDA, that half of the food we eat should be fruits and vegetables.
Every day we offer at least four choices of fresh fruits, in addition to a canned fruit option. We also offer, on a daily basis, mini carrots and other fresh cut veggies in season, with light ranch dressing and hummus as dipping options.
We also strongly encourage students to take the milk that comes free with every meal. We have a variety of flavors of milk (lowfat and fat-free only), knowing that children need the equivalent of at least three cups of milk per day for developing strong bones.
