Needham Community Education offers Driver's Education through Brookline Driving School for students 15 years, 9 months or older.
The Driver’s Ed course includes:
30 hours of classroom instruction
18 hours of training in the car (12 hours of driving time and 6 hours of observation time).
The on-the-road training hours are scheduled with Brookline Driving School staff once the student has obtained the learner's permit. Students are eligible for their permit at age 16. It is not necessary to have completed the classroom hours before starting the driving practice.
Needham Community Education is pleased to offer Needham High School students an additional driver's training program through In Control Advanced Driver Training. The In Control program provides students with valuable hands-on experiences in skid control, accident avoidance, and other crucial driving skills that cannot be practiced on public roads.
